Materials Care

General Information about maintenance

Aprils Form products are made with high-quality materials and finishes, but they are delicate due to their composition. Careful use and maintenance are necessary to preserve their aesthetic and functional properties over time.

  • Do not use detergents containing alcohol, acetones, acid, or abrasive substances for cleaning Aprils Form surfaces.
  • Clean surfaces frequently to prevent natural agents (e.g. dust or humidity) from contaminating gold-plated, chrome-plated, and/or painted surfaces or to avoid the formation of lime scale on surfaces that are frequently wet.
  • In case of contact with aggressive agents, clean the surface immediately with plenty of water and a highly delicate detergent (mild soap) to avoid permanent staining.
  • Do not use colored detergents that may leave pigment residues and prevent the material from coming in contact with high-coloring power products.
  • Do not use cloths and metal thread pads to avoid surface scratches.
  • Natural stones such as marble and onyx have variations in color, stains, and grains, which are not considered defects, but features of the stone itself. These natural materials are also subject to color changes over time, due to solar ray exposure.
  • Always follow the instructions in this manual carefully. If surfaces are already damaged, the detergent action may cause further damage

Cleaning

Recommended Products for cleaning are soft cotton clothes soft sponges without abrasive properties and mild soap-based detergents.

  • Rinse the product with running water and wipe all wet surfaces promptly to avoid limescale fouling, oxidation and corrosion over time.
  • Remove dirt residues using a wet cloth or non-abrasive soft sponge with liquid mild soap diluted in water.
  • Do not spray or pour detergent directly onto surfaces. Apply it with a cloth or non-abrasive sponge
  • Do not mix various detergents.
  • Rinse with warm water and wipe using a soft cloth.
  • Clean any fresh stains promptly.
  • Even residues of personal care products such as liquid soaps, shampoos, shower gels, etc. may cause damage. So, always rinse thoroughly with running water after use.

Limescale Residues:

  • Prevent limescale fouling through regular cleaning and wipe water traces using a soft cloth.
  • Remove limescale fouling using a cloth or non-abrasive sponge with a limescale remover.
  • Rinse thoroughly with running water and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Things to note

  • Aggressive detergents for metal or anti-scaling agents, even those commonly used, should not be used for cleaning products made of natural stone and/or high-quality finishing. These products contain chemical agents that may damage their surfaces and may create marks causing irremediable oxidation of decorations e.g gold paints.
  • Do not use moisture displacers normally used for glass surfaces as their composition may damage the finishing of gold-plated, chrome-plated, and/or painted surfaces.
  • Avoid contact with coloring products such as nail polish, hair colors, self-tanning products as they may cause permanent stains.
  • Promptly remove stains using a cloth or a soft, non-abrasive sponge together with a non-abrasive mild detergent.
  • In case of stubborn stains, repeat the procedure by rinsing with warm water and wiping using a soft cloth.

In summary, it is important to avoid using harsh cleaning products or materials that may scratch or damage Aprils Form products. In particular, aggressive detergents for metal or anti-scaling agents, moisture displacers, and high-coloring-power products should be avoided. If stains occur, they should be promptly removed with a non-abrasive mild detergent.
